PE Accelerator Week 1: Christine Schindler of PathSpot
PathSpot is one of five companies participating in Project Entrepreneur’s five-week accelerator program at Rent the Runway Headquarters in New York City. Over the course of the #PEAccelerator, the founders will visit local tech companies, meet with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, and connect with experts at Rent the Runway and UBS to gain insight and advice on topics critical to building and scaling a high-growth company.
For each of the five weeks of the #PEAccelerator, one of the five female founders incubating at Rent the Runway Headquarters will give the PE Community a sneak peek behind the scenes of the accelerator and share favorite moments, lessons learned, and key takeaways from the accelerator that week. “This week was definitely a whirlwind, and thinking back to all of the activities makes me feel incredibly energized by all we learned in Week 1 of the PE Accelerator! We covered significant ground in the activities we took part in this week. We started the week with orientation and then dove in to social media workshops, design thinking labs, visits to the Rent the Runway Dream Fulfillment Center, and opportunities to talk more about our companies and our struggles with our Rent the Runway mentors and Rent the Runway Co-Founders Jenn Hyman and Jenny Fleiss!”
“This week we kicked off the ‘Founders Circle.’ We broke off into smaller groups and talked about the best and most frustrating parts of our week, and the aspects of the Accelerator we were most looking forward to. During this session, we had the opportunity to celebrate each other’s successes and talk through our worries and fears. I often feel that founding a company can feel incredibly isolating, and having the opportunity to learn about these incredible women around me and recognizing that we are all ready to support each other through the highs and the lows was a very powerful experience.”
“When we visited the Rent the Runway Dream Fulfillment Center this week, we all had the opportunity to hear from the leadership on site and learn about how the operation has been perfected and shaped over time to grow to the jaw-dropping process of efficiency we got to tour. As we all sat around a table and shared our current inventory, fulfillment, and processing barriers, and our dreams for what those elements could look like in the future, we reflected on how it felt to see the Rent the Runway Dream Fulfilment Center and realize that even if we are currently operating on a much smaller scale, we now have an example to work towards!”
“On Wednesday morning of Accelerator Week 1, we all went to breakfast with Rent the Runway Co-Founders Jenn Hyman and Jenny Fleiss. It was absolutely incredible to hear them tell us their founding stories, how they felt at each stage of the journey, and the ways they worked together through the process of building Rent The Runway. Spending the week working out of the bustling Rent the Runway Headquarters and witnessing the dynamic energy and passion Jenn and Jenny have inspired in their staff made having the opportunity to talk to them about the process of building Rent the Runway very inspirational. After telling their stories, they took the time to listen to each founder and offer feedback on the roadblocks most critical to our businesses. Hearing their belief in each of us, and feeling their passion for helping other female entrepreneurs overcome their struggles to build successful businesses, made me feel like we were all unstoppable.”
“Next week we’re going to hear from experts on hiring and building a team! This is a huge priority for PathSpot right now, and I’m incredibly excited to learn about and ask questions surrounding creating a positive working environment and hiring the right people for the company at the right time!”
