What do I need to include in my application?
- A Pitch Deck. Note: F6S (the application platform) will not accept pitch decks larger than 30 MB. If your pitch deck exceeds in size, your application will not be submitted. If you have not previously prepared a pitch deck, please share any marketing materials you use to promote and pitch your company.
- Only one female founder per company may apply. If selected, the founder who applied will be invited to the Investment Readiness Program.
- Information about you and your company. You will need to create and complete an F6S profile.
- If you applied to a previous year or have an existing F6S profile, log in and update your individual profile as well as your company profile before completing the application. (Note: Not all questions on the F6S profile is required)
- All required questions on the application must be answered. If a question/s does not apply to your company, please write “Not Applicable”.
I started my application, but will need to go back to it later, will F6S save my info?
Yes. F6S (the third party platform we are using for applications) automatically saves your application.
Is a video required for the PE application?
No. A video is not required for the PE application. However, we would love to have a video of you to enhance your application.
F6S is asking for my Google Analytics & GitHub info. I don't have that info - is it required?
The option to include your Google Analytics & GitHub info is not required. Please keep in mind that you create an F6S profile before starting the PE application and those questions concern your profile on F6S.
I applied to Project Entrepreneur before. Can I reapply?
Yes. If you applied before and still qualify according to our rules, you may re-apply. Note, this next phase of Project Entrepreneur is an investment readiness cohort program. It is not the program that was previously run by UBS which included a pitch competition and an accelerator.
I applied last year and attended the PE Intensive. Can I reapply?
Yes. If you applied before and still qualify according to our rules, you may re-apply but we cannot guarantee that you will be accepted into the cohort program. Note, this next phase of Project Entrepreneur is an investment readiness cohort program. It is not the program that was previously run by UBS which included a pitch competition and an accelerator.
When is the application deadline?
11:59 PM EST on March 20th, 2020.
I am a female founder, but I have a male co-founder/s. How do I know if I am eligible to apply?
To be eligible, your startup must be at least 50% female-owned.
I am a male founder and have a startup with a female co-founder/s. Can I apply on her behalf?
No. The application must be completed and submitted by a female founder.
I am a solo founder (no team yet), can I still apply?
Yes! Solo founders are welcome to apply.
My company is pre-revenue, do I need to have made revenue to apply?
Companies in pre-revenue may apply, but you must be able to show a prototype or have some proof of concept and traction.
I have self-funded my company, can I still apply?
Yes! You are eligible to apply. Companies that have not raised money are eligible to apply.
Who is considered an accredited investor?
Accreditation is a legal status that typically includes Venture Capital and Angel investors. Friends & Family investors may not be accredited investors. Crowdfunding and some equity crowdfunding sources are not accredited.
I have received grant funding, am I eligible to apply?
Yes, as long as it is not in excess of $3MM.
My sister/brother/roommate works at FFC/UBS. Can I apply?
No, immediate family members or household members (spouse, partner, children, step-children, parents, step-parents, siblings, step-siblings,) of anyone connected with FFC/UBS are ineligible.
What industries are eligible to apply?
We accept applications from all industries.
I have not set up my corporate structure. Am I eligible to apply?
Can I apply with a non-profit business?
No. Only for-profit corporations are eligible. However, B-Corporations and for-profit social ventures are eligible.
When will I be notified if I am selected as a participant and invited to the PE Investment Readiness Program in NYC?
Approximately two weeks before the program launches. The NYC Program is scheduled to launch on or around April 13, 2020
How many companies are selected to be part of the cohort?
Two sets of twenty five (25) companies in NYC in the spring and LA in the fall. There will be a total of 100 founders (representing 100 companies) that will go through the program in 2020.
What is the selection process?
Once the application period closes, a committee from UBS and FFC will review application based on:
- Strength of Applicant or Team
- Strength of Product or Service you have developed
- Business Model & Traction
- Customer Acquisition/Market Opportunity
- Growth & Scale Strategies
I am not a U.S. citizen. Can I apply?
You must be a U.S. resident, and your business must be incorporated and operating in the U.S. You or your business must have a U.S. bank account.
Do I have to be in NYC for each of the sessions?
Yes. Participants must be physically present for each of the three sessions. If you are unable to attend, your substitute must be a female co-founder or female C-suite executive.
Is housing provided for the attendees?
No. Attendees must provide their own lodging if they choose to participate from out of town. Since the program is free, we hope that this helps offset any expense.
Do you take equity?
No. We do not take any equity as a participant of the program.
